Creating documents

Creating documents in Codex is different than creating documents in a word processor. In a word processor, you write one long document. In Codex, a document is more like a web site. To create a document in Codex:
  1. Create topics . Topics are like web pages. Each topic is a self-contained unit of information. Each topic usually contains information describing a single concept, procedure, or system component.

  2. Create a map . A map is like the sitemap of a web site. A map consists of a set of links that point to your topics, and represents the table of contents of your document.

  3. Publish your map. To deliver your document to your intended audience, you must convert your map into a presentation format like HTML or PDF.
